Bridal shopping at Anderson’s is by appointment only, so you’ll have time to try on designer gowns and see what you really love once the dresses are on.

We’ll start with the basics: what you’re planning, when you’re getting married, what you’d like to spend, and any dress ideas already living on your Pinterest board.

See What Your Stylist Pulls

Your inspiration gives us a place to start, and then your stylist will pull gowns for you to try. There may be a few unexpected choices, but remember some dresses look much better on a bride than they do on the hanger. One of them might end up being your favorite.

Get Into The Dresses

Now for the fun part! You’ll try on different gowns and see what looks and feels right once you’re actually wearing them. Your stylist can help you compare favorites, but you’ll never be pushed to choose before you’re ready.

Before Your Appointment

You don’t need to study silhouettes or arrive with your dream dress completely figured out. A few simple things can help you get ready for your appointment: 

Save a few screenshots if you have them

Bring photos of dresses or details that have caught your attention. If you haven’t saved anything yet, that’s okay too. 

Wear something easy to change out of

Nude or seamless underwear can be helpful, but you don’t need to buy anything special before your appointment.

Choose your guests carefully

Bring the people who make you feel supported and whose opinions you genuinely trust. 

Tell us if your wedding is coming up soon

Include your date when you request your appointment so we can keep your timeline in mind.

Anderson’s Bride has helped thousands of Alaska brides shop for their wedding dresses since 1993. Brides visit us from Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, Wasilla, and communities across the state. Bring an open mind, too. It’s completely normal to love something different once you start trying on dresses.

With established designer collections and many gowns available directly from our boutique, you may find more options close to home than you expected, without automatically planning a bridal shopping trip to the Lower 48.

YES. ANDERSON’S BRIDE IS AN APPOINTMENT-ONLY BRIDAL BOUTIQUE. RESERVING YOUR APPOINTMENT GIVES YOU DEDICATED TIME WITH A STYLIST AND ALLOWS OUR TEAM TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VISIT.

What should I bring to my bridal appointment?

A FEW INSPIRATION PHOTOS ARE ENOUGH, ALONG WITH YOUR WEDDING DATE AND THE BUDGET YOU’D LIKE TO STAY WITHIN. AND BRING AN OPEN MIND! YOU MAY CONFIRM EXACTLY WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WANTED, OR FALL FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Do I need to wear a bra or shapewear?

YOU DON’T NEED ANY SPECIAL UNDERGARMENTS. OUR GOWNS HAVE BUILT-IN BRAS AND SLIPS WHERE NEEDED, SO YOU CAN SIMPLY COME TO YOUR APPOINTMENT AND START TRYING ON DRESSES.

Can I purchase a gown from the store collection?

YES! MORE THAN HALF OF OUR BRIDES’ GOWNS ARE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM OUR STORE COLLECTION. AVAILABILITY DEPENDS ON THE GOWN AND SIZE, BUT YOUR STYLIST WILL LET YOU KNOW WHICH DRESSES CAN GO HOME WITH YOU AND WHICH WOULD NEED TO BE ORDERED.

What if my wedding is coming up soon?

TELL US YOUR WEDDING DATE WHEN YOU BOOK. WITH MANY GOWNS AVAILABLE DIRECTLY FROM OUR STORE COLLECTION, A SHORTER TIMELINE DOESN’T AUTOMATICALLY MEAN YOU’RE OUT OF OPTIONS. WE CAN ALSO CHECK WITH OUR DESIGNERS TO EXPLORE OTHER POSSIBILITIES WHEN NEEDED.

What happens after I find my dress?

YOUR STYLIST WILL EXPLAIN WHETHER YOU’LL BE PURCHASING THE GOWN FROM OUR COLLECTION OR ORDERING IT THROUGH THE DESIGNER. WE’LL ALSO TALK YOU THROUGH WHAT COMES NEXT, INCLUDING PLANNING FOR ALTERATIONS.

I had the best experience with the girls at Andereson’s! My appointment flowed super well even during the Covid restrictions. My dress was the first one I tried on and Erika nailed it. She had it sitting out before even seeing mean when I put it on I felt more beautiful than I’ve ever felt before. It looked perfect for my wedding!
